Counselling & Psychotherapy
As a counsellor I work in a humanistic and integrative way. This means I trust in your ability to find your own way through issues, that you are the expert on you and know what is best for your own growth as a person. I aim to support and facilitate this process.
My hope is that those I work with in counselling move towards a greater sense of well-being and connection, to themselves and others.
Before becoming a psychotherapist, I worked for 15 years in homeless services. In that work I learned of the power and importance of genuine and deeply respectful human connection, as I strove to support those experiencing the trauma of being without a home.
I am a fully accredited member of the Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (IAHIP).
the humanistic & integrative approach
This approach to psychotherapy recognises and respects:
that life is complex and constantly changing
that each person has the inner wisdom needed to grow and change
that we are all equal in our humanity
that we all have a unique experience of our humanity
that we are all responsible for ourselves and our lives
that human connection is vital to our well-being
